On April 6 of this year approximately 100 photographers entered the park in order to participate in the 9th annual 24 Hours Photographing Joshua Tree National Park. The primary concern was an exploration of the craft of photography in Joshua Tree National Park. The resulting prints illustrate numerous approaches. Basic black and white gelatin silver prints to computer enhanced images adorn this exhibit. The investigation into the subject matter is more complex and personal.

Furthermore, the desert's myriad moods and layer upon layer of individual subject matter adds to the complexity. Alas, this is part of the desert's charm and why some individuals choose to spend a lifetime in exploration.

It is my hope the viewer is captivated by the efforts of these photographers and will consider participating in next year's 24 Hours Photographing Joshua Tree National Park. The event is schedules for April 6, 2003. Registration begins in November at Park Headquarters.
