"It's Not Over 'Till You Win!" - Les Brown

When the company we'd been in ending up being another of the cast of those that make promises 'till they get you... then leave you hanging... we were at our wits end. We heard through the grapevine that someone I truely respected was going to put his telecom of 6 years into network marketing. Jack & I talked to him... and we decided what the heck. While we were searching high and low for a company with some real integrity, we needed an income. We did NOT want another rotten product company, so wanted to do extensive research before getting involved.
We went to Kevin of Cognigen, and told him we'd like to work with him when he launched. We also told him up front that we would work to build a secondary income, while continuing our search for a product company and he had no problem with that. We started offering the service to our friends, family and relatives, something I had not yet done as I do not like working with friends.
In this case... since I had a rate LOWER than the giants (7.5 cents)... I was saving them money. So I asked them to do me a favor and sign up at my site to save money. They could be my customer, or if they wanted to buy phone cards, or be a distributor too... FOR FREE!!... they could join me right online! We knew upfront we would not produce major income for 4-5 months, however, since we were still looking for a good product company and wanted to do our homework, we figured we might as well go wild. We went to work, and it started rocking!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we were doing our homework, looking for a real solid company, greater than 5 years old, with solid products and integrity too. NOT an easy task! And we found it ... or at least it seemed that way at the time.

We examined it with a fine tooth comb. We tore the comp plan apart... looked at the products, the managment, the quality. There was not ONE PART we did not scrutinize. We spoke to distributors, got on some conference calls, talked to the company management, researched backgrounds. You name it... we did it. We did NOT want to make any more mistakes, because we felt this was our last chance to make it.
We believed we'd found INTEGRITY, and QUALITY the cornerstones. This, we thought, was definitely a different company. They listened... and they cared! We let them know UPFRONT, that we were in a telecom and because of being burned so many times, in the past we would NOT give up our income stream we were building with Kevin, and they said that was fine. There was no conflict there... and no problem.
We went to work, rebuilding our tools. My partner Jack set up our new web site, and built the one for the team. He then created a product sampler site so that we could showcase our awesome product.
Primarily, we worked ONLINE... where they said it could not be done. We also maintained and supported those we had started with in our telecom because we fully believe in support. We proved that not only could that be done... you CAN do it ONLINE... and in 2 things simultaneously. And... we'd ONLY just begun!! We were SURE we were at the end of our search... but... as happens so many times in this industry... things changed again.

2001 - THE FINAL CHAPTER (I HOPE & PRAY)
Here I am once again starting OVER. Two years ago, when I went to the new company, we did extensive research because we said at the time we NEVER again wanted to start over and never thought we would. Well... I was always told NEVER say "NEVER". Things happen, circumstances change and without a crystal ball no one knows the future.
We had worked extremely hard in that company and made it to the top position of National Director in 6 months. We maintained that position during the next 18 months. The first year, we were excited... automation was promised and supposed to be in by November of 1999. We were looking forward to that. Skin care products were promised, and we were ecstatic. Well, November turned into January before we knew it. January turned into February. In February, we were PROMISED the system would be operational by May 8. May 8 came and went, but then we realized they did NOT say which May 8.
Wanting to work online, my partner Jack's time was being spent with providing systems, and upkeep of them rather than networking, and we were both becoming frustrated with the lack of progress in this area.
Summer came, and went without any progress. We were looking forward to the convention which was coming at the end of October, and just knew they were most likely going to surprise us with the long awaited system. We went to Vegas for the convention. Usually conventions have surprises and exciting news. Instead, this was more of a "training". We had fun, enjoyed meeting our downline, but returned very discouraged, that no news came on systems nor other promises made earlier.
SO... 3 weeks later... when we were approached and shown Voyager, the timing was just right. While we were not actively seeking another company, we were open to looking at what other companies had.
We were skeptical, but every tool we saw here actually WORKED. We were amazed with the state of the art online system, that allowed us to monitor our business moment by moment. Communication was timely, and up to the second. There was online ordering, and genealogies, even package tracking. Then we looked at the management team, and were impressed. Here were people that took other companies from ground floor to millions, and had NEVER failed. Their tract records were impressive. Asking around, checking them out they were KNOWN for integrity, something we've always insisted on.
Then we looked at where they were... here the company would be publicly traded, and we would have tools to work with to help people. The product line that was being developed was DIFFERENT than most, not just "me too" type products, but cutting edge, patented products, more a "super food" line than another "vitamin' line. It was definitely different.
We then looked at the compensation plan, and saw contrary to some past experiences, this one rewarded you for working. It was a totally balanced plan, that helped the beginner, someone in the middle and also helped the back end. That was impressive.
After much prayer and thought, we made the decision to retire from the company we had been so focused on, and see how long "TRUE" residual efforts will really pay off. We worked hard for 2 solid years, built a good group, and thought we would do what we set out to do in MLM... collect our residual check and then start over and build another one.
SO...we jumped into Voyager in the early weeks of November, 2000.
The first 2 months, were just devoted to starting over, building a team of champions and leaders, looking for the right people. What we found, was MANY people saw the vision also, and jumped in with us. We found our selves working with some AWESOME folks that we had previously just been FRIENDS with online. When we had shared with them prior, they had no interest... but in VOYAGER... they saw the same vision we saw.
This company will become a POWERHOUSE in this industry, and we're thrilled to be here, and work with folks that have dreams and visions.
So... here I am again, starting over. Hopefully, I'm working on the FINAL chapter in my quest to reach the top of this industry. Once there, I intend to write a book, about all the things you go through to succeed.

Looking back in history, those that reached the top, also failed a number of times first. IF you learn from each mistake, and keep on moving forward you can become the best that you can be. My wish for everyone is that you find your dreams, and become all that you can be.
Our goal is to help others achieve THEIR dreams. We formed Legendary Ventures International, and dedicated it to those in our downline because we feel THEY are the real stars. Without them, we'd never have done as well as we did, and we look forward to helping all of them meet or exceed their goals.

To help all others in Network Marketing, my partner Jack is building a generic MLM Center. It's pretty rough right now, as our primary goal is our team and this is being built in his "spare" time.
Along the way, through the rough roads we traveled, I did meet many wonderful people. Many got burned out on MLM because it is rough. Others never really did MLM. We just made some awesome friends.
